School of Management Holds Foreign Expert Lecture

On the afternoon of June 13, 2025, the School of Management held a high-end foreign expert lecture series in room 812 of the administration building. This lecture invited Associate Professor Sangcheol Song from the Department of Management at Saint Joseph's University to give a presentation on Research on Multinational Operations and Management and Publishing in International Journals. Many faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduate students attended the lecture and engaged in discussions with Professor Song.  


Professor Song, who holds a Ph.D. in International Business from The Ohio State University, focuses his research on international business and strategic management. At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Song analyzed the balance between the interestingness and importance of research topics. Drawing on his own experience, he provided detailed insights into key aspects and strategies for writing and publishing SSCI journal papers, including topic selection, paper structure, language polishing, and submission strategies.

Professor Song also used his working paper, Boundary Conditions for Multinational Operational Flexibility Under Exogenous Uncertainty: Operational Hedging Role of Intra-firm Trade, as an example to elaborate on the research motivation, theoretical approach, contributions, and empirical findings of the paper. He discussed issues related to research methods and international comparisons with the audience.

During the final interactive session, Professor Song had extensive discussions with the faculty and students and patiently answered their questions. Many participants expressed that they had gained valuable insights into SSCI paper writing through this lecture.

The successful hosting of this high-end foreign expert lecture not only provided an international learning and communication platform for faculty and graduate students at the School of Management but also further promoted academic research and the writing and publication of high-level international papers in the field of corporate finance and strategy.
